A travel day so nothing much to report. We had a 4 hour train ride from Amsterdam through Brussels and into Gare du Nord. The central station in Amsterdam is enormous, probably a kilometer in length. It’s right next to what looks to be the main city harbor. It was a grey day again and pretty cool. I think a persistent weather pattern like this all winter would be hard to take. By the time we reached Rotterdam the sun had come out and the rest of the ride was in bright sun. It went smoothly and we now ensconced in a small apartment about a 10 minute walk from Gare du Nord. It’s located in the 10th arrondissement and about 2 blocks from the Canal St.Martin. I made a foray out and got a few days worth of breakfasts and a tea pot. Tomorrow will be an exploration of the neighborhood so that we have our bearings. There is supposed to
be a good butcher close by and I found a small boulangerie. We’ll see what we can discover that will make our stay go smoothly.
