Well, we always intended to start using our Spanish from the moment we entered Spain, but we hadn’t envisioned using it at the local police station. Thanks to a couple of friendly, hardworking local cops and a wonderful, honest, kind (but hard to find) taxi driver, Luis Valer Rodriguez, we are back in possession of Warren’s left-behind bag, Including every one of its valuable contents. Whew! We’re so relieved that we spent
several hours sitting in the sunshine at a nearby bar on the plaza, soaking up sunshine, warmth and alcohol in equal quantities. A dandy little pizza added to the festivities. And the bar came with a floor show: the evening paseo with families, dogs, bikes, scooters, elderly in wheelchairs, babies in prams, extemporaneous soccer games of amorphous children’s teams, lovers strolling, - all the entertainment one coulddesire. Warren got us some provisions for breakfast and tomorrow we’re off to start exploring Seville at our usual leisurely pace. A stressful day finished successfully, thanks to “the kindness of strangers.”Cheers, Deborah

Thank goodness it all worked out!
